Professor of Arabic at the University of Dhaka since 1993, Dr. ATM Fakhruddin has shaped generations of scholars and leaders through his teaching at both undergraduate and doctoral levels. His academic journey spans from the madrasah tradition to the highest echelons of university scholarship — earning his PhD from the University of Dhaka in 2006 with a thesis on Religious Humanism.
Beyond the classroom, he has served as Imam and religious leader in both Bangladesh and the United States, appeared on television channels including BTV, Channel 24, and TBN USA, and participated in interfaith dialogues across South Asia, Southeast Asia, Europe, and the Americas — visiting over 30 countries in the process.
His published works — over 56 books, journals, and translations — span Arabic poetry, Islamic jurisprudence, Quranic studies, and interfaith dialogue, written in Bangla, English, and Arabic. He has supervised 11 PhD students and 15 M.Phil candidates at various universities in Bangladesh.
